Biografía

    A The Kinks foi formada em 1963, em Londres, por Dave Davies e Peter Quaife. Além dos dois, a formação original contava com Ray Davies (irmão de Dave), e Mick Avory. Fizeram muito sucesso com seu rock britânico durante os anos 60, 70 e 80. Depois de algumas mudanças na formação, a banda se separou nos anos 90 e os irmãos Davies partiram em projetos solo. O grupo também era famoso por seus conflitos, tanto públicos quanto privados, principalmente entre Ray e Dave, que não muito raramente, resultavam em agressões. No começo de 2000 rumores de uma reunião dos Kinks começaram a circular, mas Ray levou um tiro na perna em 2004 e Dave sofreu um derrame, o que adiou os planos. Recentemente a banda teve a sua música "All Day and All Of The Night" incluída no jogo "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith".
